Salar de Uyuni, also known as the Uyuni Salt Flats, is the world’s largest salt flat, located in the southwest Bolivia at of 3,656 meters above sea. The flats cover an area bigger than 10,500 square kilometers and are covered by a few meters of salt crust. Visiting Uyuni means admiring amazing salty white landscape with the Andean mountains in the back. Uyuni is also known for being extraordinary flat, which in combination with its size offers quite unbelievable photo opportunities.
A visti to Salar de Uyuni (and the surrounding Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Avaroa) was definitely on of the top three experience of our Peru & Bolivia trip. Admiring the incredible white landscape with the visit to the salt hotel, Dakar Rally monument and cactus island Isla Incahuasi is absolutely amazing, however, this blog post is dedicated to another Uyuni’s feature – the opportunity to make some of the most incredible and funny photos in the world. Scroll down to see what photos we managed to take. You are welcome to laugh! 🙂
Arriving to Salar de Uyuni with our jeep.
Jumping of happiness for seeing this incredible salty landscape.
Uyuni gives you some challenges – trying to keep the balance on a moving wine bottle.
After jumping from the wine bottle we had to run from a dinosaur.
Once we mastered the balance it was easy to stand on the tip of the hat.
I also found out I could have a career in chips surfing. Do you agree?
Finally, I had the opportunity to be taller than my boyfriend for once.
But not for long – who will the giant Klemen pick for his lunch?
P. S.: Uyuni also makes a perfect place for some romantic photo capture of love.
